I was lucky enough to come across Mid America Optics when I was looking for my last thermal purchase. Mid America was great with answering phone calls, texts and sending videos discussing scopes and scanners. I decided I needed to add a Rix K3 to the stable. The checkout process was easy and shipping was to my door in 2 days.
I didn’t want to write a review of the K3 as soon as I got it because I wanted to get a lot of field time to give an honest review. After months of having it, and comparing to others, I think it’s the best buy out there in terms of a scanner. After many successful coyote and raccoon hunts as well as walks in to and out of the deer stand, I’m completely sold on the K3. The basic functionality is easy to use and not over complicated . I do have access to other scanners that cost 3-5 times what the K3 costs, but for the money and functionally, I think the K3 is hard to beat.
When I have friends come over, they all want to use the K3 because of the compactness and ease of use. After a lot of time in the field I would say to buy a Rix K3 and any extra money you were considering spending on a more expensive scanner should be invested into a scope. I recommend Mid America Optics and the Rix K3.
